Divorce by the Numbers

by David McGrath | Apr 28, 2023 | News

Forbes recently published an in-depth list of national divorce statistics, covering everything from the most common reasons for divorce to divorce trends in first, second, and third marriages, and divorce rates by state, occupation, age, and income.

Even though both the marriage and divorce rates have declined over time, the Forbes data supports the long-standing premise that a substantial portion of all marriages end in divorce.

Just like fingerprints and snowflakes, no two divorces are alike. Every marital breakup has its own unique legal, financial, emotional, and/or parenting issues and fallout.

Understanding the divorce process and court system is difficult enough before adding in the strain of negotiating interpersonal relationships and complex financial settlements. Working with an experienced divorce and family law attorney is key to navigating difficult decisions that will affect every aspect of post-divorce life.

While we pride ourselves on our depth of litigation experience, staying ahead of potential problems and addressing them amicably is an important part of our commitment to doing all that we reasonably can to help our clients emerge positively from the divorce process.

It is a privilege to work with our clients as they navigate difficult decisions that will affect every aspect of their lives after divorce. We focus on respectful, non-adversarial litigation, mediation, and collaborative divorce. If this is what you are looking for, reach out to our office.
